STORY
Not long after we recorded our demo, it became apparent that our previous material was literally
not up to speed. When we practiced and played live all those songs were faster than they were on the
record. For this record, we made sure that we played the songs at their full speed. When we finished
writing this 7" we had a good, solid almost 5 minutes of music. By the time we recorded it was just under
4. This record is pretty short, but we do not apologize! You get six songs. Hey, we could have played
them slower to take up more time, but you wouldn't want that! This was our first time recording with Joe
Mitra and the first thing we noticed about him was that he meticulously set up/mic'd the drums. That was
what the majority of the time was spent on for this recording. Once we set everything with that and we
got the gnarly guitar sounds that we want we literally blazed through this recording. The vocals took
quite a while though. Since it was recorded even faster than we had practiced (this happens every time
we record...) I just wasn't used to singing it at that pace. There were a few complications with this record
coming out- soon after it was recorded half of us went to Europe for 2 months for the Magrudergrind tour and had
trouble going back and forth with everyone about inlay/artwork issues. To make matters worse,
there was a printing error on the cardstock that left a lot of bleed that left the inside of the cover
unreadable. To solve this problem, the label printed up a separate lyric sheet. When all was said and done
Nick Baran of ThirdXParty hand delivered us 55 test presses for our record release show on September 27, 2007
(which was one of most fun shows in recent DC history)!
